CENTRIC

Consulting Firm

I joined the National Marketing Team for Centric as their first graphic designer on staff. As the in-house designer I created layouts and graphics for marketing materials for use by marketing and others across the company.

I did a refresh of Centric's branding and implemented it across all marketing materials for a cohesive look. They needed a full buildout of marketing content and in the time I was there I created over 10 infographics, 12 one pagers, 14 presentation decks, event collateral and graphics for 2 events, 14 website graphics, 9 flyers, 9 ads, 4 social media graphics series, 2 campaigns (digital emails, social media graphics, content assets), 5 email layouts, numerous icons and case studies, 2 event videos and other miscellaneous graphic items. Additionally, I created Marketo landing pages and did an update on the look and content in the marketing portal to provide easier self-serve access to content by the larger organization.

I collaborated with the content marketing manager, marketing director and other members outside of the marketing team including consultants and business unit team members on various projects.

Digital One Pager

Graphic design layout, icons, image manipulation: Jennifer Johnson

Content providers: Jason Miller, Misty Walsh

I collaborated with the Digital Team lead on a one pager to outline the consulting services that Centric offered. They wanted a single piece of collateral to act as a snapshot for potential clients. Centric's branding had a lot of bright colors and I worked at breaking up content into more digestible parts with colors and a grid system. I created icons for the different service offerings and incorporated visuals to underline the service offering. I altered the colors in the rowing image to match with the purple and green used throughout the layout.

Centric Event Graphics and Collateral

Event Collateral & Posters

Graphic creation, design layout, file output: Jennifer Johnson

Content providers: Misty Walsh, Sean Neben, Chad Caldwell

For this client event the key stakeholders wanted a craft brewery theme. They wrote the content of the service offering using language as if each service was a craft brewed beer. It was a really fun concept so I created the design for the poster, line card, tshirt and other giveways to have the feel as it might be displayed at a brewery with a logo that could be used on other giveaway items. I simplified the colors sticking with one of their signature gold colors and white, reversed out on black. The design was well received and ended up being used at a subsequent event.

Digital and Print Ads

Graphic design layout, file output: Jennifer Johnson

Content providers: Misty Walsh, Yudy Pineiro

The goal of these ads was to promote Centric's consulting services on social or in print. I incorporated images to underline the message of working as a team. As consultants they would dig into a companies business challenges to help them work toward solutions for reaching their business goals. Team work and striving toward the top of the mountain or the end of the race gave a more visceral feel then just people in a business meeting. I worked with the purples and golds from the Centric brand palette.

Centric Social Media Graphics

Social Media Blog Campaign Graphics

Graphic design layout and illustration: Jennifer Johnson

Content provider: John Kackley

Content editor: Yudy Pineiro

The Essential Skills was one of the blog series campaigns that I was happy to collaborate on. It was a series of 8 articles and the content writer for the articles became the central figure navigating the various topics throughout the series as if he was in a comic book. I chose a single character to use throughout the series which was a stock asset and created the background illustrations and layouts for each article to underline the theme for each. This allowed for custom graphics that would not have been as well achieved if we tried to create the images with stock photos.

These graphics were used on social media to direct readers to Centric's blog and were used within the content of the article. I had a lot of fun with this series as the content was very accessible and light and I wanted to incorporate that feel in each scene. For this series I worked with the blue and gold shades from the Centric brand palette.

What the team had to say

Jennifer is a highly skilled and creative graphic designer. Jennifer did an incredible job elevating the look and feel of our brand, offering a skilled touch to everything including website visuals, PowerPoint presentations, and a range of digital campaign materials. She is hardworking, professional, and welcomes new creative projects with open arms. Her work is smart and unique. As her manager, I appreciated that she “got me” and understood what I was hoping to accomplish. I would welcome the chance to work with Jennifer again and strongly believe she would be a valued asset to any creative team.

Misty Walsh, Marketing Director

Jennifer is a great, creative designer. The work she has done to improve our brand standards, and overall look, have taken our image to a whole new level. She is good at taking complex concepts and turning them into something more visual and easy to consume.

Digital Newsletters

Graphic design layout, icons, email coding (css, html): Jennifer Johnson

Content provider: Yudy Pineiro

I created various internal and external email layouts while at Centric. The Centric Insights was a quarterly Newsletter that went out to customers with links to blog posts and series from that quarter. I created a general template to use and then for each quarter the main photographs were switched out to match the content. Each quarter also used one of the main colors like the blue palette for this one with pops of the gold color to add interest through contrast.
