MEDIAFLY

SAAS B2B software

I joined Mediafly as the Graphic Designer on the marketing team and was promoted to Senior Graphic Designer after 8 months. I created marketing materials for use by the sales and business development teams, c-suite and marketing with specific focus on thought leadership and customer engagement via website content downloads.

What I like the most about being a part of the in-house marketing team is that you get to work with the brand from end to end. You can focus on being cohesive across all elements from the website, to presentations, to print collateral at tradeshows. Graphic design was intregral to the marketing strategy. See examples below.

AI Guide

Illustration and guide layout: Jennifer Johnson

Copywriting: Megan Paszczykowski

I worked in collaboration with a freelance copywriter for this guide. It was a thought leadership piece to educate on AI and Machine Learning which Mediafly used as part of the software platform. I wanted to make the topic easy to digest and give it a light and fun feel with the robot character while staying true to the branding with Mediafly's signature green color. It was used as a website download and a content download from a blog post.

Mediafly Sales Guide

Sales Guide

Guide layout and design: Jennifer Johnson

Copywriting: Jodi Cachey

Mediafly created a lot of content around selling and thought leadership on the topic. I worked with the in-house writer on the team for this guide. This was during a time when the branding was beginning to evolve, new colors were being introduced including shades of green and pops of brighter colors. There was a move to photography with illustrated graphical elements as secondary. I strived to use images that were not to "stock photo-ish" and incorporated them as visual metaphors to enhance the messaging in the copy. This was a website and blog post download and a printed version was used at events.

Digital Ads

Ad layout and image manipulation: Jennifer Johnson

Mediafly merged with two companies while I was part of the marketing team. During the second merger we created social media advertising that would include the current platform and the promotion of the new company that was adding to the software capabilities. As a sales enablement platform that was for larger companies, the company they merged with had a solution for smaller companies. The campaign focused on greyscale photography with pops of the signature Mediafly green color. I adjusted color photos in Photoshop to remove the color and add the green. The typography was created based on the photo layout. This was one example.

Infographics

Infographic layout and graphics: Jennifer Johnson

Copywriting: Jodi Cachey

We created a number of infographics as website downloads on thought leadership topics. This one delved into the intersection of marketing, sales and technology. Basically the different elements of the software and how it affected the teams that would use it. The goal was to break down the process into smaller, actionable steps with graphics, iconography and a simple illustrative feel. Mediafly worked with Forrester on a number of marketing initatives and we incorporated statistics in a graphically interesting way to add an outside source for the the value of the content.

Event Presentation Template

Slide layout and graphics: Jennifer Johnson

I created presentations for webinars, sales and events. This was an example of an event presentation template. Mediafly's customer success team hosted a customer event every year. They brought in customers and vendors to present thought leadership and share ideas about the use of the platform. This presentation template was created for the speakers. The theme focused on the idea of growth with the plant imagery that worked well with the Mediafly green.

Sales Enablement Explainer Video

Design, animation, voiceover and video compilation: Jennifer Johnson

Copywriting: Jodi Cachey

We created an Explainer Video for a conference event that played on screens throughout the venue. The goal was to give an on brand visual explaining the software platform in a fun way. I stretched my capabilities by digging into After Effects and Voiceover recording to create the video all in-house. It spurred me to take some classes in animation at School of Motion. It was well received by the team and a step in a different direction by creating video content.

Website Design

Web design, graphics and icons: Jennifer Johnson

Wordpress Template: Zak Kates

Copywriting: Jodi Cachey

I worked with an external developer on the Mediafly Website Redesign during my first year at the company and maintained the content as well as adding new page designs for a company that was acquired and blog updates during the rest of my time there. The template was custom built for wordpress by the developer and I was able to tweak and adapt the content with HTML and CSS when necessary. The site when I first started at the company was in need of an overhaul. I focused on incorporating the brand colors and illustrative icons throughout the site and worked with a copywriter for the content, using photography and illustrations to complement the text.
